The Blue Order

Here's my latest FanFic, enjoy!

The bag around Skulduggery's skull was lifted to reveal a room full of men in red cloaks. Some had their hoods down, others did not- but it looked like they all had a blue stripe across their eyes. The room was wide and the ceilings were very high up, shelves lined the walls and on the shelves sat books of every shape and size. There was a long table in the middle of the room that looked like I would host at least 50 people. The lighting was pathetic, so Skulduggery struggled to make out everything. However, he did see a banner stretching across the wall at the top of the table.
"Welcome, Detective Pleasant," sang a cheery voice. "To the Blue Order." A small, dwarf-sized man stepped forward from the crowd. His cloak was different to everyone else's. It had  blue stripes on top of the red and there was a crest on the left shoulder with some sort of insignia on it. Suddenly the room became lighter, as if someone had opened curtains and let sunlight in. The banner at the top of the room, Skulduggery discovered, said 'The Blue Order' in red ink.
"Am I missing so something?" Skulduggery chuckled. The dwarf-man frowned.
"What do you find so amusing, Mr Pleasant?"
"Oh, it's just that..." Skulduggery could barely contain his amusement. "You're... You're..." He cleared his throat. "How unprofessional of me. I'd straighten my tie, but I'm a little tied up right now." He stated as he raised his hands, still tied up behind his back.
"I'll ask again, detective. What do you find so amusing?"
"Oh yes. You'll have to forgive me, I was in another world going crazy with the Faceless Ones not to long ago, so my mind likes to wander a lot now." Skulduggery flashed the Blue Order a gleaming, boney smile. "But yes, what I find so amusing. Well, it's that this strange 'group' Is called the 'Blue Order' and every tag you put at one of my crime scenes is written in red. And you're all wearing red cloaks." The dwarf-man did not change his facial expression.
"And what is your point, detective?"
"Well, it's ridiculous, isn't it? You're called the Blue Order, yet you are all wearing red, writing in red. It's a it of a visual oxymoron. You'd be better calling yourselves the Red Order or meet in the middle and be the Purple Order. Or you could change your uniform." The entire room. Became an uproar until the dwarf-man screeched for silence.
"Mr Pleasant, we have kindly brought you forth into out midst and-"
"I wouldn't call it kindly," Skulduggery interrupted. "You've kidnaped me, tied me up and put a bag on my head."
"And shown you our most influential members. You know of our devious plans, and because we think you'll agree with us, we are asking you to join us, to help us make our world a better place, to put an end to our enemies. And you know, you will not win if you defy us. So stand with us and watch our enemies crumble." Cheers filled the room.
"Well, as enticing as that offer sounds, I gracefully decline." Every man in the room began to shout and roar, or they thought that was what they were doing. It just sounded like school children arguing in the playground.
"I mean, your plans to take over libraries worldwide are absolutely diabolical, I agree. I'm shaking at the thought, look." Skulduggery raised his arm slightly. "But I'd get caught if I helped. I mean, my friends will suspect something if I'm not still where I was and they'll track me here and ruin your entire scheme."
"But no one knows where you are. We took you from your house. They won't be able to find you. You live alone." A random member of the crowd shouted.
"Did you even check my house before you kidnapped me? No, I don't supposed you did." Everyone in the room began to look at each other in confusion. "I live alone, but I didn't say I was alone when you took me." That was when the doors crashed open.

John Green, you evil man.

So, I recently finished two of John Green's wonderfully wicked books-

Looking for Alaska

And

The Fault in Our Stars

I was not expecting to like them so much, because I usually only read fantasy...

I was also not expecting to cry so much. Both books were really gripping and I couldn't put them down when I was reading them.

I thought that I would cry more at TFIOS, but that wasn't the case. LfA sent me into a 20 minute weep at the end of the book. TFIOS was, of course, still extremely saddening and I cried for over 10 minutes, but LfA was filled to the brim with feels.

And yet even though both books were written very well and LfA triggered more of a reaction, The Fault in Our Stars was definitely my favourite. It really made me laugh (and cry) at the best bits. At all bits really... And I really preferred the story. I just loved it overall.

I strongly recommend these books and any other John Green books, because they are brilliant. I know I'll be buying more of his work. And a lot of tissues ;)

I had this idea...

Right. SO. I thought that if I have a goal, like finishing a book and getting published, I'll actually make myself do it. I work better like that.

So I had a book idea, and I'll be writing various scenes to keep me interested and make me want to piece it all together.

Here is a short flashback scene which I don't expect you to get all of at this moment in time-

It was three days before my eighth birthday, and I had punched one of the boys in my grade. That boy was Leith Drovsky, son of Boris Drovsky, and he really had been asking for it. Even at such a young age, I was top of my class in training and academics. Leith was second to me. He had been tormenting my best friend, Zebulon Turia, about his name and his rank in our class. I'd had enough and punched Leith square in the nose, causing a bleed. Vampire blood doesn't affect other vampires so there wasn't any hunger felt as the blood spurted from Leith's nose. My mother had hastily dragged me away before I could cause any real damage, as did Zeb and Leith's mothers. We were rounding the last corner before our chamber when a massive crash and a symphony of screams erupted from the main cavern. Fear shot across my mother's face as she shoved me through our door. If my mother was afraid, I knew it would be bad. She bolted the door and blocked it with the little furniture we had in our small alcove. "Mother," I had whispered, terrified. "What's happen-"

"Shhhh," she silenced me and hurried me to one of the far corners of the room. I was not one to argue with my mother, so I stood and waited as she leaned against the freezing stone wall and dragged her hands along, feeling for something. After a few seconds, she found what she was looking for and I heard a soft click as the wall began to shake and tremble. I was so amazed that I jumped when repeated thumps came from the blocked door. The furniture slid away slightly with each thud. Like someone, or something, was throwing themselves at it. I would later discover that it was a group of Lovac; half-human half-vampire, who hunted and killed vampires as well as other creatures. The secret door had opened fully and I gasped. Weapons lined the walls. Dozens of calibres and models of guns, knives of all shape and sizes, axes, swords, and weapons I couldn't even name. My mother scanned the walls before plucking several knives from their places and strapping them to a belt I hadn't even seen her put on. She slid another into her boot and strapped several guns to various places on her body. She reached for an axe with a blade the size of her forearm and positioned it on her back. There rest was shoved to the left as she urged me inside.

She lifted the end of a tablecloth and pointed for me to crawl under. I obeyed. “Scarlet,” she whispered in her thick Russian accent. “Stay here until I come and get you, my dearest. You cannot leave until it is safe.” My fiery red fringe fell over teary eyes. It was one of the very few features I had inherited from my mother. “Remember, you are a Drakon.” She reached down, tucked it back behind my ear and kissed my forehead. “One of the last of your name. You are a warrior, like your father.” I smiled; my father was our best warrior and was in battle at the time. “If I don’t... Return...” my mother faltered. “Well, if that’s the case. Take this.” She placed a sheathed knife into my hand. “Use it well, my daughter. It was given to me by my mother, and has been passed down from mother to mother for centuries. If I don’t come back, pull this lever down.” She indicated to a sconce on my right and I nodded. The banging on our door stopped suddenly. “I love you, Scarlet. Never forget that. And never forget who you are, sweetheart.” Tears ran down both of our faces as we embraced one last time.

“I love you too, mother. I promise I’ll do everything you’ve told me to do," I cried. She kissed my forehead, and then my two cheeks as the secret door began to close. “Mother,” I screamed. “No!” The last thing I saw was the door to our chamber exploding, dozens of strangers with blood-stained weapons pouring in and my mother, my sweet and gentle mother, ready to fight them all until her last breath, before I was plunged into complete and utter darkness.

More random scenes to come! <3

No idea...

I don't really know what this is... I think I'll write about something Vampire-y and include this... Anywho, opinions would be appreciated none the less!

A gasp escaped my lips as a girl emerged from the smoke and debris, unscathed. Her hair, from the distance I was standing at, looked golden. But as she neared our encampment, I realised that it was white as snow. It flowed to the bottom of her back.

When she had reached us, I noticed how she had styled it in a beautiful yet simple way; two layers of hair from both sides, plaîted(?) and held at the back by a single glittering clasp. No loose strands or wisps of hair -even with the wintery Siberian winds- escaped the hold of the clasp, as if glued in place.

The girl's skin was nearly as pale as her hair and was completely flawless. She pulled up her overly-sized furry hood as if she knew I was staring. The coat was authentic, made of some white reindeer or something, I didn't really know much about animals and their furs.

Up close, I realised that she was older than I had thought. Her eyes glinted with an all-knowing look as she passed. I stared after her in complete awe as she glided into my superior's tent.

HAI! :3

HAI GUIYZ! :3

So, if you haven't noticed already... I'm actually POSTING. Yes. I have decided I need to get my act together and do something with myself.

Hence the return to Blogland I shall be making over the next few weeks. Because I don't do studying.

You may, or may not, be aware that I have renamed my Blog. Quite fitting, don't you think? It's slightly more original than just 'Skulduggery Pleasant'.

Hopefully I'll post pieces of writing of a much higher standard too!

So, what are you waiting for? Spread the word! Rejoice! Sing to the heavens! CASSIDY CLARIMONDE IS BACK!

P.S. I expect you to do none of those things...

The Undead Part 3.

Skulduggery drove around the area a few times making sure he was gone whilst Valkyrie checked the circumference of her garden. They met at the pier and Valkyrie explained what had happened.
"But Fletcher killed him!" Skulduggery raged.
"Well apparently not, because that was definitely him," Valkyrie snapped. "What about my family Skulduggery? What if he tries to hurt them? He's completely unhinged. We have to do something!" she exclaimed. Skulduggery just sat there, deep in thought. They sat in silence for at least another 5 minutes before Skulduggery put the keys in the ignition and the Bentley came to life. He reversed out of the position they had been parked in and put the car into 2nd gear. "Where are we going?" Valkyrie stared at him expectantly.
"Well the first place we're going is back to your house so that you can release the reflection. After that, we'll need to go visit a friend of mine."
"What friend? Do I know them?"
"No. His name is Vektor Treskov. And he's a vampire hunter."

The Undead Cont.

Caelan reached over to give Valkyrie a kiss, only instead on connecting with her lips, he connected with her fist. He was knocked back slightly.
"Outstanding my love, you've gotten stronger," Caelan exclaimed. Valkyrie brought her leg up and kicked towards his stomach. Caelan intercepted her kick, twisted her leg and pushed. Valkyrie fell, face first, towards the ground but caught herself at the last moment. She pushed herself back up and settled in a defensive stand.
"Why are you here?" she spat. "You're supposed to be dead." Caelan smiled.
"How could I leave my soulmate? Whom I have an undying love for."
Caelan went in for a full on french-kiss as Skulduggery drove up. Valkyrie pushed him away and called Skulduggery over. When she turned back again to fight Caelan he was gone.
"Valkyrie. What happened?" Skulduggery inquired in that velvet voice of his. Valkyrie turned around and looked in to his eye sockets.
"Caelan's back."

Sorry it took so long guys! It's not that good either! Thanks for reading! ;)

The Undead.

Valkyrie sat up and looked at her phone through sleepy eyes. 3:33am. Why was she awake? There was a faint brushing sound from outside. Valkyrie slid out of bed and put her necromancer ring on. She felt the cold of the shadows around her instantly. Flexing her hand, Valkyrie felt the air for disturbances. She froze then grabbed her phone and called Skulduggery.
"Skulduggery," she whispered.
"Valkyrie? What is it?" he replied sleepily. He must have been in a trance.
"There's someone outside. Come quick." Valkyrie hung up the phone and got dressed. Skulduggery wouldn't be here for another 10 minutes or so. Valkyrie opened her window and climbed out. She felt the air again. Nothing. Wait, in the tree across from her was the slightest movement. Valkyrie lunged forward, using the air to propel her, and landed on a branch pretty high up. There was a rustling above her. Valkyrie climbed the tree. Until a dark figure stopped her close to the top. Valkyrie pounced on the silhouette fell with it, out of the tree. They somehow managed to land standing up.
"Miss me?" came a familiar voice. Valkyrie took a step back.
"Caelan."

Autumn Maridence

Hey guys !!!! I know I haven't posted in a while so I finally finished a little thing I was writing about an OC called Autumn Maridence. It's not my best piece but it's just to keep you all going for a bit.

Remember the 2-part Halloween Special FanFic I wrote last year??? Well, I had promised that I would write more but never got round to it so I think I might develop that a bit more this year !!!! :D

Anyway, here's the Autumn Maridence Story :)

The girl in black landed on the metal stairs going all the way up the building she had just jumped off. The icy wind blowing through her rusty red hair. Her name was Autumn Maridence. She loved winter in Scotland, especially at night. She stopped for a split second analysing the situation. Vincent Le Strange had double-crossed her and he was probably half way down the building by now. He hadn't expected her to jump, it was a good start to the chase. Suddenly, she jumped off of the stairs and started running. She had gone over the area yesterday knowing that it was a double cross. She ran through a tunnel, took a left, ran down an alleyway and lightly jogged down the mainstreet. Her car was just over the bridge ahead and she was surprised she hadn't encountered Vincent or any of his goons. Just as she reached the halfway point she saw someone standing at the other side of the bridge she needed to cross and he wasn't alone. "Damn it, knew it was too good to be true," Autumn muttered. Two men came running at her.The first man went to send weak tendrils of shadows at her thigh. She turned to her left, the shadows missing her by inches, and elbowed him on the chin, shaking his head and knocking him back, just as the second attacked. He punched Autumn's gut with a fist of fire twice and went in for a third but she kicked him then flipped him over her hip. She turned back to Vincent and the remaining goons, ready for more, but as she did, icy black arrows of shadows hit her body. The arrows pierced all over her body and sent her sprawling. She hit her head off of a lamp post as she fell and landed against it. Autumn hit her head harder then she thought. "Ouch," she mumbled, checking the place where her head made had made contact with the lamp post. Over-taken by a spell of dizzyness, everything started to blur and darken. She could barely see Vincent Le Strange approaching her. Then, everything went black and Autumn Maridence was finally unconscious.

Fanfic

Hey there, since it wouldn't let me contribute my entry to the short story competition on the Skulduggery Pleasant page i decides to write one and post it here instead. Here goes -

Valkyrie groaned, and sat up. "I told you it was a trap," she said.
"No, you said it looked like it was a trap," Skulduggery corrected. "That's completely different."
He helped her up as a door opened behind them and ...
Sadistica Tortura walked through, an unsettling smile on her lips.
"Oh, what a lovely little surpise," she said in a feline tone."The famous Skeleton Detective and his assistant Valkyrie Cain. At my merciless hands," she purred. She circled them, staring ay them intently. The door opened again, but this time Drake Shadows walked through. He smiled at Skulduggery and Valkyrie then his lips met Sadistica's. As he pulled away he gave her two pairs of bounded handcuffs.
"It was great meeting you but we really must be on our way," Valkyrie said politely, steping closer to the door. Drake walked over, blocking the exit.
"You musn't leave now, the fun's just about to begin," Sadistica insisted. She walked up to Valkyrie, smelling her. Valkyrie flinched, she hated people getting to close to her. Sadistica started fiddling with Valkyries hair then yanked it suddenly. Valkyrie screamed in pain. Skulduggery went to help her but he hit a wall of shadows Drake was controlling. He sent tendrils of shadows at Skulduggery's hand, just as he was reaching for his pistol. Meanwhile, Sadistica was on top of Valkyrie, scratching at her face and neck. Valkyrie was trying to push her off before she penetrated her skin. They struggled for a bit, Valkyrie growing tired and moaning ever so often. Valkyrie finally punched Sadistica on the side of the jaw and kicked her off, sending her sprawling across the room into Drake, who was struggling with Skulduggery, making him stumble. Skulduggery used the distraction to punch him several more times, ending with a hard uppercut to the chin, knocking Drake out. He landed on top of Sadistica, who hissed and tried to claw her way out from under him. Eventually she gave up and jsut lay there. Skulduggery walked over to where his pistol lay and picked it up. He dusted it off and put it back in it's holster.
"Are you okay?" Skulduggery asked Valkyrie.
"I'm fine," she said. "Just a little sore" Valkyrie walked over to the pairs of handcuffs that Sadistica had dropped during their struggle. She tossed a pair to Skulduggery, who walked over and cuffed Drake. Valkyrie went over to Sadistica, rolled Drake to the side with Skulduggery's help and pulled her arms behind her back cuffing her. Skulduggery pulled out his phone and called the Grand Mage.
"Yes, we've got them. No, they're fine. Yes, okay we will. Just Cleavers. Thanks. Bye," Skulduggery said and hung up." The Cleavers will be here shorly, Ravel says good work." Valkyrie just groaned and slid down the wall. The Cleavers wouldn't be there for another ten minutes. She took that time to relax and think about going home. The Cleavers arrived with two other Sanctuary agents Valkyrie had met once or twice before and she got up and went to sit in the Bently to wait for Skulduggery. He told gave the agents what to do with the couple and got in the Bently. Skulduggery drove Valkyrie back to her house instead of the docks as it was so late at night that nobody would be up.
"Thanks Skulduggery, see you tomorrow," she yawned.
"Take the week off, i have some business i need to deal with and you could really use some rest," he said to her. She nodded and walked away, greatfull to have some time to herself. She walked directly below her bedroom window and made a cushion of air below her to carry her up. Whe she was at the top she open the window and let herself in. The reflection was lying in her bed, staring at her as she came in. Valkyrie said nothing as she changed into her old running shorst and an old t-shirt. The reflection walked over to the mirror and stepped inside, waiting there. Valkyrie touched the mirror and felt the memories flood through her as she got into bed and pulled the covers up to her neck. She lay there engulfed in the warmth of the covers and drifted off thinking about Fletcher.

That's all I've got so far, let me know what you think :3 ~ Cassidy
